the Ordinance No 5 of 1857 which had been held to be illegal, the objection to that ordinance and t the above clause being that they each dealt with and professed to curtail the Jurisdiction of the High Court of Admiralty which this Legislativ Council cannot do it

-vires. The difference between the provision of No 5 of 1857 and the proposed Ordinance being that some of the Surisdiction in Admirally was by the former transferred to the Stipendiary Magistrate and that by the latter it was proposed to be transferred to the Supreme Court t trong trong
